Introducing pathways to relaxing regional cross-border power exchanges at MEDPOWER 2020
The 9th of November, CROSSBOW project has participated in the online MEDPOWER 2020 conference by organising the panel session “CROSSBOW – pathways to relaxing regional cross-border power exchanges”.
The University of Manchester (United Kingdom) organised this panel and involved other CROSSBOW partners such as Security Coordination Centre SCC ltd Belgrade (Serbia) University of Cyril and Methodius (North Macedonia), University of Podgorica (Montenegro) and University of Zagreb (Croatia).
This panel aimed to disseminate the research is done and outputs made so far, namely with respect to the Regional Operating Centre (ROC), development of regional Balancing and Ancillary Services Markets.
Also, speakers have highlighted the importance of cybersecurity. and the development of some of the CROSSBOW products: Hybrid RES Dispatchable Unit (RES-DU), Virtual Storage Plant (VSP) and DSM Integration Platform (DSM-IP).
The event attracted attention from both academia and industry (International Energy Research Centre – IERC and some of the regional coordination centres in Europe).
The MEDPOWER 2020 (Mediterranean Conference on Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Energy Conversion)was held virtually between the 9th and 12th November 2020. This conference covered all aspects of power system design, operation, and planning, including the integration of ICT and energy systems as well as addressing challenges in the future energy markets.
