New video: CROSSBOW scenario “Regional Operation Centre”

This video presents the scenario (high-level use case) of the CROSSBOW project “Regional Operation Centre”. CROSSBOW demonstrates an integrated approach in the management and operation of the transmission network in South-Eastern Europe. The project extends the functionalities provided by the Regional Security Coordination Centre (RSC) operating in the region – SCC, member of the project consortium. Most of the current TSOs making use of SCC services participates in this demonstration. CROSSBOW explicitly addresses the development of balancing capabilities of future Regional Operation Centres (ROC) – adaptable to any existing RSC. The ROC balancing cockpit allows the data and information exchange between TSOs in order to increase reliability and efficiency in the transmission system.

The demonstrations in this scenario measured the impact of the CROSSBOW product Regional Operation Centre Balancing Cockpit (ROC-BC), which has been awarded by the European Innovation Radar. This product has been developed by the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (Greece), Centar Za Koordinaciju Sigurnosti Scc Doo Beograd-Vozdovac (Serbia), Elektroenergien Sistemen Operator Ead (Bulgaria).

CROSSBOW is evaluating the nine demo clusters (high-level use cases) until the end of the project; this includes the technical validation of the CROSSBOW products and the evaluation of the socio-economic impact of the project solutions and business models. Those demonstrations are measuring the impact of the CROSSBOW products in real conditions enabled by TSOs of the national electricity grid from 8 different countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Serbia), as well as in Slovenia through a renewable energy cooperative. To explain each scenario nine videos are being produced. Watch it here
