CROSSBOW was presented in the CIGRE Regional South-East European Conference (RSEEC 2018), that took place during October 3rd – 5th 2018, at University “Politehnica” of Bucharest, Romania – event organized with the support of CIGRE Paris.
At its fourth edition, it is a major biennial event in power systems which will provide an exceptional venue to CIGRE members and interested parties for presenting: Innovation for efficient and effective management, solutions for power systems of the future.
The main topics of the conference were the state of the technology for electrical networks of the future, electricity – key factor for society development and challenges in education of power system workforce.
The Security Coordination Centre SCC ltd Belgrade -partner of the consortium- presented the paper “Impact of dynamic line rating on operational planning calculations of interconnected transmission systems” which is involved with the first High Level Use Case (HLU) Regional Coordination Centre from the project. The purpose of this paper is to present advantages of Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) methodology in comparison to the conventional approaches for determination of thermal current limits, this analysis is performed for the most frequently overloaded the overhead lines (OHLs) and tie lines in the transmission systems of Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In HLU1, CROSSBOW will demonstrate an integrated approach in the management and the operation of the transmission network in South Eastern Europe. The project will extend the functionalities provided by Regional Security Coordination Centre (RSC) operating in the region – SCC, member of the project consortium. Most of the current TSOs making use of SCC services will participate in this demonstration.
The conference brought together power systems engineers, decision makers, economists, academics, students and others with interest in the domain. The conference also promoted CIGRE as a strong technical organization, capable of contributing to the technical expertise and know-how through its study committees, conference proceedings and the technical documents.
