The new edition of the ENTSO-E’s mid-term adequacy forecast is now published (MAF 2018) an analysis of Europe’s security of electricity supply by 2020 & 2025, which highlights the importance of cross-border cooperation in fostering adequacy.
ENTSO-E consults its MAF 2018 assessment as part of the process to fulfil Regulation (EC) 714/2009 legal requirements. Thus, the public consultation takes place from 3 October to 9 November 2018.
The MAF reports have a growing role in monitoring of European expected resource adequacy in coming 10 years. MAF results can support the establishment of countermeasures by relevant stakeholders (e.g. Member State authorities, policy makers, regulatory agencies, energy utilities) to ensure the desired adequacy levels.
